Heart Attack Causes Death Of Aged Mora Lady

Mrs. John O. Nordenstrom, Pioneer Resident of County, Called Beyond.

The death of Mrs. John O. Nordenstrom occurred at her home in this village Thursday night last week, shortly after midnight. The deceased suffered a severe heart attack and was ill only a little over an hour when death came peacefully. She was a pioneer resident of this county, coming with her husband to Grass Lake township in the late 80's.

Martha Greta Nordenstrom, nee Larson, was born in Indals forsamling, Vasternorrlands Ian, on January 16, 1860, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Magnus Larson. She was married June 24, 1882, at Sundsvald, Medelpod, Sweden, to John O. Nordenstrom. In 1888 they came to this country, living at Pine City for a short time before moving to a farm in Gass Lake township. Later they moved into the village of Mora, leaving here to settle near Henriette. About three years ago they returned to the village to make their home.

Two of their children, Oscar and Charles, were born in Sweden and Mrs. Gerber was born on the boat enroute to this country. The other five were born in Grass Lake township.

Six sons and two daughters survive, also 39 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Nordenstrom preceded her in death about 2 years ago. The sons and daughters are Oscar, Charles and Ed of Henriette; Fred of Brook Park; Ben, Conrad, Mrs. Laura Gerber, and Mrs. Sadie Dickson of Mora. Three brothers survive, Gustave of Mora, Fred of Minneapolis and Henning of Seattle, Wash.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, July 23, at two o'clock from the Erickson chapel with Rev. H.E. Johnson of Mora officiating. Three songs, "In the Sweet Bye and Bye", "The Eastern Gate", and "Tell Mother I'll Be There" were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bjorklund of Henriette. Six grandsons of the deceased acted as pallbearers. Interment was at Oakwood cemetery in the family lot.

All the children were present for the funeral, also many nephews and nieces from Minneapolis.

She was a kind and loving mother and will be greatly missed by all.
