Esther Tippelt

  Funeral services will be held here at 11 a.m. Thursday at Community United Church of Christ for Mrs. Esther A. Tippelt, 79-year-old Medford resident who died Sunday evening at Memorial Hospital, Medford, where she had been hospitalized one day.

  Rev. Stephen Rohloff will officiate and burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery II.

  The body will repose from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford and then at the church after 9 a.m. Thursday until time of services. The famiy requests memorials be designeated to the Women's Guild of Community United Church of Christ.

  The former Esther Ruesch, daughter of the late Gottlieb and Agnes (Hartwig) Ruesch, was born September 23, 1910, at Medford and received her education in the Medford area schools, graduating from Medford High School.

  Her marriage to Alvin "Ozzie" Tippelt, who survives, took place here March 14, 1942.

  A lifelong Medord resident, Mrs. Tippelt had been employed in her early years as a teller by the State Bank of Medford. In 1961 she began employment with Memorial Hospital of Taylor County, working there as an insurance clerk until her retirement in 1971.

  She was a member of Community United Church of Christ, its Women's Guild, the GUG Germania and the Landau-Jensen American Legion Auxiliary at Medford.

  In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and five grandchildren. Other survivors include a sister and four brothers.

  She was also preceded in death by a brother, David, who died in 1985.
